Our Story

Four Generations.
One Single Craft.

Before the modern skylines of Trenton and Philadelphia existed, our great-grandfather was laying the brickwork that built them. Since 1905, A. Pennacchi & Sons has refused to dilute its expertise.

We are not a general contractor. We are specialist masons. Whether we are stabilizing a fieldstone foundation on an 18th-century farmhouse or performing façade restoration on a commercial high-rise, the work is structural artistry.

1905

The Foundation

Established in Mercer County. Immigrant bricklaying technique brought from the Old World.

1950s

Commercial Expansion

Servicing churches, schools, and civic landmarks across NJ and PA.

Today

The Fourth Generation

Blending historic preservation with modern structural engineering.

We are so impressed with Pennacchi & Sons. Multiple people recommended this company as the best in the region. For a company with a huge legacy there was no hesitation to see what our small job looked like. The crew was friendly, timely, and efficient. Ray walked us through the process and answered tons of questions. The end result was better than the original.

A roofer told me I had a big chimney problem. I called A. Pennacchi & Sons. Paul came out the next day. I asked if I should add a few bricks to the top. He said "why do you want to spend more money?" — what contractor says that? The men came out a few days later. On time, polite, cleaned up like they were never there. His price was the best one. My chimney looks absolutely beautiful. I would give them 10 stars.

Water was getting into my house because of the old brick exterior. Although this was a very small job, Paul and his son Paul Junior were incredibly professional, listened, and addressed my concerns. I left their crew to complete the work without being home and everything was safe and secure when I got back. They kept their work areas clean and took away their trash. Paul’s price was the most competitive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Pennacchi & Sons does amazing work. They restored my front door steps which were in bad condition. They fixed all the chips and cracks and painted them. Very professional and great service.

Great experience with Paul and the Pennacchi team. We contracted this firm to waterproof our basement and replace our basement windows. Nick was excellent at coordinating the effort, including preparation, window replacement, waterproofing, clean up, and follow up to inquire about and resolve a few questions. Happy to recommend Pennacchi and Sons.

Client Inquiries

Frequently Asked.

Do You Handle Historic Landmark Permits?
Yes. Working on historic properties often involves strict municipal oversight. We are familiar with landmark preservation guidelines in towns like Princeton and Doylestown and we handle the necessary material matching — including lime mortars — to keep the project compliant.
How Disruptive Is A Complete Chimney Rebuild?
A teardown and rebuild requires scaffolding and heavy material removal, but our crews are meticulous. We tarp all landscaping, enforce strict debris control, and typically complete the structural masonry work within 3 to 5 days depending on height.
What Is The Procedure For Basement Waterproofing?
We do not rely on surface coatings alone. We diagnose whether the issue requires exterior excavation and membrane coating, or an interior perimeter French drain tied to high-capacity sump pumps. Each solution is engineered for permanence.
Do You Take On Smaller Residential Repairs?
Yes. While we service cathedrals and hospitals, our foundation is built on serving local homeowners. Repointing a front step, fixing a stucco crack, or repairing a brick retaining wall — no craft is too small.
Are Your Crews Subcontractors?
No. Every crew on your property are Pennacchi employees, trained in our standard of heritage masonry. The name on the truck is the craftsmen doing the work.
